The Art of Visual Storytelling: Voices of Faith and Migration

This immersive, multi-media event, blends film screening and viewing, live digital art and bespoke soundtracks with interactive conversation. Drawing on Mohammed Ali’s projects of recent years, and his collaboration with Warwick’s Dr James Hodkinson, it showcases how this approach to art can be used to explore the experiences of migration, faith and identity in complex societies, engaging minority communities as co-collaborators and co-producers, capturing and re-telling their stories in the process. In so doing we not only help share their stories with wider audiences, though also preserve their legacy in an engaging and meaningful way, helping to raise their profile and pride in their heritage. Engaging the audience on the night, weshow how live responses can be woven back into the performance spontaneously, modelling the process of shared artistic production in the live moment of performance.
