A-N-D-R-E-A

I was invited to create the film titles for an LA based film-maker Armando Valdes-Kennedy.

Growing up I used to be fascinated by film titles, observing the tone and pace of how they appeared gracefully onto our screens. As a visual artist I became obsessed with making things that would mesmerise you and entice you to engage further.

When I was approached to do the titles for A-N-D-R-E-A I instantly knew this was an opportunity to not only create something of beauty, but also to combine that with my passion and desire to tell untold stories of brilliant everyday people.

I may be from the UK on the other side of an entire ocean, but I could totally connect with the A-N-D-R-E-A story through my own personal narrative as the son of an immigrant.

These multi-colour ribbons that wipe across our screens call to something deeper - the common thread of those who contribute to the various elements of this wonderful film.... our shared narrative as immigrants and people of colour.
